What we really should do is make a repository to 'build' all the data from scratch. Make a folder for each mix file, and a make file that compiles the mix. Making a command line tool to make mixes would be pretty easy as the XCC Utilities are open source.
I might fork Hifi's P-series repository just for this purpose, and add on option that avoids modifying the executable so Arda can be used too. This should help with the fact that it's getting increasingly difficult to set up a 'compleate' Red Alert install. Of course, once it's all made a fancy-schmancy NSIS installer is always nice, but seeing that RA can be made to no longer rely on the registry, is probably not that important Edited June 21, 2012 by Sonarpulse. OK, git get's pretty slow with big binary files, especially with things like mix files and tarballs which trade quantity of files per size of files, so am going to split the history of the data branch into two seperate unrelated branches (to be concatenated when git is faster hopefully). It will look like this: Backup-Branch- ISOs UnpackedCDS redalert.mix+main.mixsub-mixesextracted Allmixesextracted Mix-Branch- Allmixesextracted(again) Later revisons. I started to create an installer that asks for all the disks and creates a combined main.mix (implemented in.Net). It's not quite done, the mix generation works, but the UI, error handling and related stuff is not finished yet. And it needs twice the size of the combined main mix as temporary space. The combined main.mix I did using the old RA Mix tool (the DOS version) actually worked in both versions 2.0 and 3.03, but I have no plans to release a 757 MB file to the public that contains all movie clips (except the The Lost Files from RA Retaliation in which I could not get them to work) and all Ant, Counterstrike and Aftermath missions.
(excluding multiplayer maps which happens to remain in expand.mix and expand2.mix files) I hope your simplified installer works. Edited September 10, 2012 by zocom7.
But I have no plans to release a 757 MB file to the public that contains all movie clips (except the The Lost Files from RA Retaliation in which I could not get them to work) and all Ant, Counterstrike and Aftermath missions. (excluding multiplayer maps which happens to remain in expand.mix and expand2.mix files) I have movies from the original RA and the Ant Missions from CS cutscenes. (AM didn't have cutscenes on its own - Retaliation did) To unpack the file, you need to download all files into the same directory, avoid changing the filenames of the.rar files and extract the package in the game directory through the first part. Download Red Alert This page contains step-by-step guide on how to download and install Red Alert on Windows Vista/7. As you may know or not, for the 13-anniversary of Command & Conquer series, EA officially released Red Alert as freeware! This follows up on the success of Tiberium Dawn free release for the 12-anniversary. As this is an old game it will only run on Windows Vista/7 with modifications, but this guide will take you through it step-by-step: Note for 64-bit users: you should use utility instead of Red Alert SETUP program!
Downloading and Installing Red Alert: 1. You need to download game.
The files have been released in their original format - one for Allied missions and another for Soviet missions:. The files have been compressed to save the bandwidth, you'll need to download and install to extract them. Double click on the downloaded.rar file: 3. Double click on RedAlert1SovietDisc (or RedAlert1AlliedDisc) twice: 4. Drag the.iso file and the XPPatch folder onto your desktop: 5. Download and install.
Right-click the MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM Manger icon in the notification area. Mouse-over Virtual CD/DVD Rom: 8. Mouse over 'D: No Media' (the drive letter may vary depending on your individual computer setup) and click 'Mount': 9.
Browse to one of the downloaded ISOs and open it. The autoplay window will now appear with a cheery 'Welcome to Westwood' message, close it. Explore the disk. Double-click the Setup95 folder icon. Right click on SETUP and select properties.
Select the Compatibility tab. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
Select Windows 95 in the drop down window below. Click Apply then OK. Now double click SETUP to install the game. Unstick the install DirectX option.
Now the game is installed, you do not need to repeat this with the other file. The next step is to install the patch: 20. Open the XPPatch directory we extracted to your desktop earlier.
Copy the patch file into the Red Alert installation directory, by default this is located at C: Westwood RedAlert 22. Double click on the patch to run the patch file. This will create three more files - Patch.exe, Patch.rtp, and Patch.txt. Double clicking on Patch.exe will initiate the update process. That's the game installed and patched, the next step is to set compatability mode: 24.
Click on the My Computer icon. Navigate to the Red Alert installation directory, by default this is located at C: Westwood Red Alert 26.
Right click on RA95 and select properties. Select the Compatibility tab. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
Then select Windows 95 in the drop down window below. Click Apply then OK. Red Alert is now installed!
I followed the steps given and they did work perfectly for me. However can someone please answer a question I have? How should I go about installing yuri′s revenge now that I have red alert 2 installed? Specifically, I want to know if all of the files for yuri′s revenge should be placed into the folder I have red alert in.
Also, do the the image files in yuri′s revenge need mounted the same way the files in red alert 2 needed to be, or are there additional steps I need to follow before the game works? Please answer if you can and thank you a lot. SO CONFUSED @Andy or anyone who can help. I have followed Andy′s steps perfectly, as far as I can tell, up to step five. I do not seem to have any IMG files, namely the soviet and allied files so I cannot mount them and am stuck. Please help me however you can.
Dear SO CONFUSED. Like Andy said. Download the RA2 ISO file from this page first (about 1.4GB). Then unzip the file inside. Then go here:.
Download the program. The install the program above.
Go to the unzipped file, find Ra2 Allied.img and Ra2 Soviet.img. Follow the rest of Andy′s instruction. Note: I managed to play this game just fine. I even uninstall it sometimes, and install it again.
Meet the spartans full movie in hindi free download 3gp. Because the game too addictive. I can′t even focus on my homework.
To clarify the steps above the Multiplayer files are the files you will use to play the game. You only need to download the ISO files from this site in order to obtain the.mix files as mentioned above. This quote below: 'Within the zip file, copy the two files aqrit.cfg and ddraw.dll into the directory where you installed Red Alert 2 Using a text editor, edit aqrit.cfg so that ForceDirectDrawEmulation = 1' Refers to the Multiplayer version you installed NOT the ISO version from this site. Again, when you mount the image files from the ISO version, copy the.mix files to the multiplayer version and make sure it′s the.exe files from the multiplayer version that you modify the compatibility options for. I am using Windows 7, 64bit.
I can get it to work without putting it into 95/XP mode. I don′t have any screen issues requiring additional tools (ddwrapper) either. The only issue i have is, there are no cutscenes. I′ve downloaded a pirated version from another site, and it worked apart from the cutscenes.
Been reading somewhere they only work with a CD, so i downloaded the ISO image from this site on here. Now, i can′t get it to install. It prompts me to put in my administrator password for 3-4 times & nothing happens, even with 95/XP mode. Same thing happens with my original disks. So, my question is, does anyone else have cutscenes with the image from this site? So I managed to get this working on Windows 10, after following Harv′s comment.
It works perfectly! Though, there were a few extra steps, so just in case it helps others, I thought I′d write up a clearer set of instructions 1.
Download & install the Red Alert 2 Multiplayer file from here: 2. Download ddwrapper.zip: Within the zip file, copy the two files aqrit.cfg and ddraw.dll into the directory where you installed Red Alert 2 Using a text editor, edit aqrit.cfg so that ForceDirectDrawEmulation = 1 3. Follow the instructions here to install a Windows 8/10 compatibility fix. Basically (I′m just repeating what the website says): a. Download files from here: - admin note: file available in the game extras of this page b. Double click on the BAT file which is labelled 'Double Click Me' c.
Copy and paste the files from the 'Game Files' folder into the folder that you installed your game in. On the file game.exe - Right click Properties Compatibility Settings Reduced Color Settings = 16-bit Run this program in Compatibility Mode = Windows 7 Run this program as administrator = Checked Disable scaling on high DPI settings = Checked 4.
At this stage, try running the game by double clicking game.exe Note - Only game.exe worked for me, ra2.exe and Red Alert 2.exe seemed to freeze soon after running. Try clicking on a Single Player New Campaign but it will display an error. Almost there! Use Virtual CloneDrive to mount the IMG files from this website in the zip.
(Ignore the built in IMG mounter in Windows which gives you an error message.) 6. Using Virtual CloneDrive, mount the Ra2 Allied.img file. On the new CD-ROM in your Windows Explorer = Right-Click Open Copy the maps01.mix and movies01.mix into your Red Alert 2 game directory. Allow overwriting of existing files in that directory (those files contain no data) Unmount the Ra2 Allied.img, and now mount the Ra2 Soviet.img file. Now copy the map02.mix and movies02.mix into your Red Alert 2 game directory. Start the game up again using the game.exe file.
And hopefully it works! Note: There was no music when I played the game, which was fine with me. I suspect you also need to copy in the music theme.mix file into the game directory which is located here: Thanks to Harv for setting me in the right direction for this. Are you retarded?
The Sims 2 Complete Iso
Your little Reddit post has just as much copyright protection that this abandoned game has (probably even less). Nobody is going to court over a copyright claim on abandonware. Also, Reddit doesn′t give a shit if your content gets linked to from some website. Good luck on getting it removed. LOL Andy, thank′s so much for the detailed guide and links.
Download Red Alert 2 Complete (iso) Original 2 Disc
With your help, I got it up and running and it looks like both campaigns will work (only tried allied one so far). Also wanted to note that my music works fine too, and I didn′t copy and files over from the virtual discs.
One question though - My memory could be failing me, but I thought you could set up teams when skirmishing with AI on RA2? Or did that come in a later patch then 1.006? Ok i moved the.mix files from the cd images to the game directory. I copied both allied and soviet. It asked to copy and replace or keep and change the name of some of them. Need for speed most wanted download 2005.
So i can play soviet, but i cant play allied missions cant figure it out. Anybody know what to do or the proper way to copy the.mix files?
Kareem 2018-07-12 1 point So, I ran into a problem while installing this game on windows 10 The download file provided will give 2.img files and in a general manner usually, you have to mount one of the two disks (Soviet disk or Allied disk) using a virtual drive manager and install them. However in this particular case (at least in my case) the autorun will initiate but as soon as you click the install button, it will tell you to log in using an administrator account even if you run it as administrator.
So, to fix this I've taken a Rewriteable DVD and burned the.img files to it one at a time and after I burned one of the two.img files to it and installed using that disk. This did fix this error and allowed me to install. Ustuban 2018-07-10 0 point Hm. So, I downloaded the package of red alert 2 that you guys kindly provided and I extracted it. After that I launched the ra2.exe file. It game me an error saying 'This application has failed to start because binkw32.dll is missing.'
Then I thought 'Well there are different executable files and I probably clicked the wrong one.' I went to click the other.exe files and it showed up the same error.
Then I thought. 'Well, this game is old and it probably had some compatiblity issue with windows 10.'
(Also I did the Windows 10 Patch Thing And Followed The Instructions And That Didnt Work Either.) So then I fired up a VM in VirtualBox with windows XP installed. I dropped the file in, launched the game and, I got the same exact message. At this point I started Googling how to exactly fix this but I couldn't find an awnser Im stumped and if anybody would help that would be very much appriciated. A Few Questions 2017-09-17 -1 point I followed the steps given and they did work perfectly for me. However can someone please answer a question I have?

Harv 2016-06-14 15 points So I ran into some problems installing on Windows 10 but I eventually did get them worked out and the game is running smoothly: 1.
Use Virtual Clone drive and not the built in Windows 10 img mounter (Thanks Phil) 2. I read through the forum post here: Apparently the CD's came with a specific type of DRM that is no longer supported in the new versions of Windows. I installed the multiplayer only version from the forum post. Then I mounted the allied CD and copied all of the.mix files to the game directory. Then I mounted the soviet CD and copied all of the.mix files to the game directory. This should work for Yuri's revenge but I have not tested yet.
The Soviets frantically set up their base. Whether you played the Allied or Soviet campaign in RA2, it soon became clear that Yuri was the real villain of the piece. In Yuri’s Revenge, Soviet and Allied forces each get one new seven-mission campaign in which to defeat him for good after his re-emergence, supported by a range of psychic toys. You’ll probably notice the campaigns first. They’re a little short, and while campy new cut-scenes once again feature Udo Kier and Kari Wuhrer. The missions themselves aren’t quite as interesting. That said, they’re still nice, and Westwood’s included 10 campaign missions exclusively set up for co-op.
What you really want to hear about, though, are the new units, and here Yuri’s Revenge delivers over 30. Allied players get, among others, the new Guardian G.I., a soldier that can erect a mobile bunker to protect him from tanks, and the new Robot Tank, immune from enemy mind-control attacks. New Soviet highlights include a super-unit called Boris, who can call in airstrikes on structures from long range, and an Industrial Center that radically speeds up the production of units and buildings.
But all the coolest new gadgets belong to Yuri himself. Yuri doesn’t have any powerful conventional units, but ones that rely on psychic warfare, with new Mastermind tanks that can seize control of multiple foes; Psychic Towers that do the same to vehicles as they close in on a Yuri base; and Slave Miners, mobile ore facilities that employ armies of zombified slaves to manually dig Tiberium out of the earth with shovels. Also, Yuri’s mob now incorporates a little genetic trickery, with gene-altered Brute infantry units able to smash tanks with their fists. In version 1.0 you get TV parodies with hilarious voices tagging along, like Arnnie here. Lower points include the usual lack of a speed slider in the campaign missions to slow things down for the average player or just give you more time to think during combat.
The multiplayer side of Yuri’s Revenge is definitely aimed at the more advanced player as well — a small battery of carefully placed psychic units can easily annihilate a huge tank force by turning them against one another. All in all, it’s a pretty impressive achievement for an expansion pack. The Yuri units will shake to its foundations the way Red Alert 2 is played, so I advise you to start familiarizing yourself with them ASAP.
